Joseph McGraw, Esq. is a third-generation attorney who graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, and then took up law at Widener University School of Law located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While at the Widener University School of Law, Joe was awarded the Meritorious Achievement Award from the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and was the Perfect Score Recipient at the American Bar Association National Criminal Trial Competition.
He began his law career interning as a law clerk with the Honorable Judge Robert J. Conway of the Wayne County Court of Common Pleas – 22nd Judicial District. Joe then worked as a certified legal intern at the Dauphin County Public Defender’s Officer in 2006, and was later promoted to assistant public defender. A few years later, he worked at the Lackawanna County Public Defender’s Office as a part-time assistant public defender, handling criminal cases up until the appellate court level. In 2008, Joe started a private law practice that specifically focused on criminal defense and civil litigation. Joe is one of the founding partners of Nepa & McGraw, P.C.
Joe is currently a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and is also affiliated with the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National College of DUI Defense.
